Connected technologies : a revolution

PASCAL LEGER
By PASCAL LEGER
A graduate engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications, Pascal Léger is a Radio Frequency (RF) expert at Bosch Mondeville. A specialist for 25 years, mainly in Research and Development and in the industrialisation of Radiofrequency products, he works in the methods department and is the technical reference in RF at the Mondeville site. Due to his experience, he is strongly involved in RFQ, support for the development and design of production-oriented RF testers and technical support for production.

Radio-frequency communications is a set of wireless technologies that operate at high frequencies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 5G. They are present in the general public domain. Notably, in smartphones, tablets, connected watches, new cars and the autonomous vehicle. Connected technologies are being used more and more, and we can only confirm that they are on the rise.

Bosch is heavily involved in the development and industrialisation of these technologies. But also an active member in most of the communities that manage these technologies. We are part of a “wave generator” approach to make them accessible to all.

What is the future of connected technologies?

Connected products are booming both at Bosch and at our customers. We are seeing this every day with a sharp increase in the number of radio frequency functions in connected products.

The arrival of 5G, for which we are preparing, will continue to expand this promising market. Bosch Mondeville has many assets to manufacture your products integrating connected technologies.

What are the advantages of Bosch Mondeville in terms of connectivity?

Firstly, Bosch has a wide choice of radio frequency communications such as NFC, RFID, Sigfox, LoRa, Wi-Fi, BT, BLE, mobile connectivity (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), ISM band (868/915MHz), GPS/GNSS.

The skills of our experts in the development and industrialisation of radio frequency products is an asset. Our visibility over the entire V-cycle of an RF product gives us technical credibility recognised by our customers.

We develop a real partnership with our customers. We offer them the best technical and economic choices, right up to the definition of production test strategies. Bosch Mondeville provides innovative software and hardware testing solutions.
